Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks a Director of Emerging Technologies to lead its advanced technology programs and translate regional workforce priorities into high-quality credit and training offerings.

The role drives curricula, industry partnerships, and multi-campus delivery for AI, automation, robotics, electronics, and related fields, with instructional duties up to 9 credits per semester. Reporting to the Executive Director of Workforce & Economic Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus at least three years of experience in AI, automation and robotics, electronics, or related emerging technologies
• Experience developing, managing, or supporting technical programs and workforce training initiatives
• Experience building relationships with employers and industry partners
• Strong project management, communication, leadership, and organization skills

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for NWACC’s advanced technology programs
• Develop and implement growth strategies aligning programs with regional needs
• Build partnerships with employers, K-12, higher education, workforce, and economic development
• Lead the design, launch, review, and continuous improvement of programs, curricula, and learning outcomes
• Monitor emerging technology trends and guide responsible AI use, data privacy, cybersecurity awareness
• Support student recruitment, enrollment, advising coordination, retention, and transition to career advancement
• Oversee daily program operations across multiple campuses or employer sites
• Recruit, onboard, supervise, and evaluate faculty and instructional staff
• Develop and manage program budgets, equipment plans, grant resources, and sustainability
