Position Summary

The Community College system makes higher education available to a broad range ofconstituents and strives to make academic programs as accessible and exciting aspossible. Among the techniques used to accomplish that objective, the colleges usestate of the art technology to enhance classroom instruction, web course managementtechnology to enhance on-site courses and to deliver online courses and television and
other multimedia technology and programming to present academic instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Academic Dean or Dean/Directorof Information Technology, the Director of Education Technology is responsible for enhancing learning opportunities for the College’spublics, faculty and studentsthrougheffective performance in these essential functional areas:
Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, overseeing and implementing instructional technology in collaboration with the Director of Information Technology.
• Develop and deliver programs for faculty and staff on the use of instructional technologies, including course management systems.
• Administration.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies
• Service on assigned committees and task forces
• Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings which may occur during evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Instructional Technology or other appropriately related field together with one (1) or more years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Application of computers and internet to transmission of instruction, including
  information technology literacy skills;
• Design of instructional courses for adaptation to internet or television transmission;
• Methods of applying technology-based presentation in academic settings;
• Leadership in program development;
• Fiscal and business administration;
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing an educational technology strategy that advances teaching, learning, and student success.
• Extensive experience administering and supporting Blackboard Learn or Ultraother comparable learning management systems and providing training and consultation to faculty and students.
• Knowledge of emerging educational technologies, including artificial intelligence, learning analytics, and digital learning innovations.
• Evidence of leadership in evaluating, recommending, and implementing innovative instructional technologies across a college or university.
• Experience providing institutional leadership for technology-enhanced teaching and learning through collaboration with faculty, academic administrators, and other campus stakeholders.

Selection Process
