Job summary

City of Heath seeks an experienced Economic Development Director to guide Heath’s growth through strategic planning, recruitment, retention, and development facilitation. You will manage relationships with developers, brokers, and investors while advancing incentives and public-private partnerships that align with the community’s values.

Reporting to the City Manager, you will oversee data, reporting, and communications for the economic development program, ensuring compliance with state laws

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, or related field is required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Economic Development or a related field; real estate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan tailored to Heath’s growth and community expectations.
• Identify and pursue high-value commercial, retail, and mixed-use development opportunities aligned with the city’s long-term vision.
• Provide professional economic insight to the City Manager, and governing body; support agency partners.
