Job summary

Mohave County seeks an Economic Development Director who will shape the county’s future by leading strategic development efforts and coordinating partnerships with business leaders, government agencies, utility companies, lenders, and communities. You will analyze trends, develop innovative recruitment, retention, and expansion strategies, and move projects from concept to action across Mohave County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in urban planning, public or business administration, finance, or a closely related field.
• 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in urban economic or industrial development.
• 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish policies and guidelines to be observed by the Economic Development Department.
• Coordinate economic development activities and lead marketing strategies to recruit and retain industry, business, and investments.
• Develop, propose, and implement services and policies for effective recruitment of new industry and investment opportunities.
• Advise County leadership through the County Manager on economic development matters.
• Build and maintain relationships with government, businesses, developers, lenders, and community partners.
