Job summary

Surefire Cyber Inc. is seeking a Director of Digital Forensics and Incident Response to lead complex client engagements from detection through recovery.

You will mentor a team of 3–5 forensic professionals, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and partner with insurance carriers and legal counsel as needed. The role emphasizes client relationships, strategic incident response, and ongoing development of processes and skills in a remote US setting.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have DFIR and incident response leadership experience.
• Experience coordinating client-facing engagements with cross-functional teams.
• Mentorship and team development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and cultivate strong client relationships based on trust and collaboration.
• Lead and oversee active client-facing incident response engagements from detection to recovery.
• Coordinate scoping calls with clients to define objectives and expectations.
• Ensure coordination of resources with Project Management and other teams.
• Provide well-informed solutions to achieve long-term security goals.
• Communicate complex cybersecurity concepts clearly in reports.
• Mentor and develop a team of 3–5 forensic professionals.
• Share knowledge to foster continuous learning and stay updated on threats and trends.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to document best practices.
