Job summary

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford seeks an experienced Director of Development to plan, direct, and implement major and planned gift programs from individuals at five-figure levels and above.

Based on the Rockford campus, the role partners with COM leadership and the Chicago COM team, travels for donor meetings, and drives fundraising priorities aligned with education, research, and clinical advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years in development or related field.
• Proven success in securing and conducting face-to-face major solicitations.
• Ability to travel, including overnight weekends.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of major gifts $25,000+ with strategic cultivation.
• Identifies and solicits alumni and friends for COM priorities.
• Exceeds annual performance metrics with ~120 visits yearly.
• Prepares proposals and presentations for donors.
• Leads development strategy aligned with education, research, and clinical priorities.
• Collaborates with COM leadership and Chicago team on donor relations.
