- Second Front Systems is seeking a Director of Data & Analytics to build and lead our centralized data and analytics function from the ground up
- Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will own the full data lifecycle across the company - from systems integration and data architecture through business intelligence, reporting, and analysis
- This is a highly hands-on, player-coach role for someone who is excited to create the foundation, not inherit it
- Our core systems and tools are in place, and reporting is accurate, but much of it is labor intensive, and our data structure is early in its maturity
- You will establish the architecture, processes, governance, and reporting capabilities needed to create a trusted, scalable source of truth across the organization
- You will work closely with leaders and teams across Finance, Go-to-Market, Mission, Product, Services, Support, Engineering, People, and Operations
- You will connect and structure disparate data sources, define consistent metrics, and answer the questions those teams are actually asking
- A key part of the role is partnering directly with leadership to build the automated and recurring management, executive, and board reporting that improves visibility into company performance and supports faster, better decisions
- Success here means moving seamlessly between strategy and execution by designing the long-term vision for the function while personally getting into the data, building integrations and models, creating dashboards, and solving complex business questions
- Over time, you will build and develop a high-performing analytics team as the needs of the business scale
- Architect the company’s data warehouse, cloud platform, pipelines, data models, and BI infrastructure to replace ad-hoc reporting with reliable, reusable assets
- Establish governance, definitions, and lineage for company KPIs so metrics live in one governed place and survive audit and investor scrutiny
- Build automated, recurring dashboards and operating reviews for department leaders, executives, the board, and investors—timely, consistent, and decision-useful
- Govern self-service analytics capabilities so teams answer their own recurring questions without sacrificing consistency or data quality
- Own platform decisions, vendor relationships, reliability, cost, scalability, and security posture across the data tooling ecosystem
- Synchronize data across ERP, CRM, planning systems, spend management, HRIS, product telemetry, contract and program systems, and third‑party sources
- Partner with Finance, GTM and Revenue Operations, Mission and Programs, Product, Engineering, and Operations to identify trends and drive decisions with evidence
- Establish standards for code review, documentation, and quality; set the roadmap, prioritization process, and intake model for the function
- Build analytics across mixed revenue models—commercial subscriptions, federal contracts and grants, and professional services—ensuring metrics hold up to accounting and audit requirements
- Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing analytics team as the business scales; manage the data tooling budget and vendor relationships
- Success at 2F Looks Like:
- A proactive and solutions oriented mindset
- Viewing obstacles as opportunities for growth
- Having a bias toward action and tangible, measurable results
- Being team-oriented with a focus on personal responsibility and autonomy
