Hitachi America Ltd. seeks a Director of Research – Cybersecurity to guide strategic cybersecurity initiatives across the U.S. and the Americas.

The role reports to the Director of Hitachi America R&D Security Innovation Lab and requires deep technical expertise, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration. The candidate will lead and communicate with headquarters and regional teams, influence policy development, and present research findings at industry events.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional work experience in cybersecurity or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a management, policy, or senior technical position.
• Existing network of cybersecurity and industry contacts.

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead cybersecurity research initiatives and programs.
• Represent Hitachi in industry collaborations, consortia, and events.
• Provide expert guidance on emerging issues and strategic insights.
• Deliver periodic research reports and updates to stakeholders.
