Job description

Our client is a private equity backed industrial services company supporting critical infrastructure for a range of industrial customers. The business has grown significantly in recent years, both organically and through acquisitions, and is pursuing an active, ongoing acquisition strategy. It is adding a Director of Corporate Development to help execute that strategy.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on deal execution role reporting directly to the CEO. The CEO leads owner relationships and deal origination, with outside advisors supporting the pipeline. Your focus is taking deals from LOI to close and doing it well. Deal flow is steady, and there is consistently a transaction in process.

Many sellers are founder or family owned businesses going through a sale for the first time. Beyond running a tight process, you’ll be a steady, trusted point of contact for owners from signed LOI to closing.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the deal process from LOI through close, managing timelines, workstreams, and outside advisors
  • Build and maintain acquisition models, valuation analysis, and investment materials for leadership and the board
  • Run diligence, coordinating financial, legal, insurance, and operational workstreams
  • Work closely with sellers and their advisors to keep deals on track
  • Partner with counsel on purchase agreements and transaction documents
  • Set up internal handoffs and early integration planning so acquired businesses get off to a strong start
  • Help refine acquisition criteria, pipeline reporting, and process as the platform grows

What We’re Looking For

  • Acquisition execution experience from a private equity firm (Senior Associate or VP level) or a corporate development role within an acquisitive, PE-backed company
  • A track record of closing lower middle market deals, ideally add-ons with founder-owned businesses
  • Strong financial modeling and diligence skills, with the judgment to focus on the issues that matter
  • The communication skills and steadiness to build trust with first-time sellers
  • Comfort with high deal volume, lean resources, and an entrepreneurial environment
  • Industrial or services industry experience is a plus but not required

Why This Role

You’ll work directly with a CEO who has a strong track record of originating deals, backed by a sponsor committed to growth through acquisition. The role offers consistent deal flow, real ownership of the process, a direct line to leadership, and a meaningful equity opportunity.
