About HappyRobot

HappyRobot is the infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI workforces. Our AI workers don't just communicate through voice and email - they make decisions, take action, and run operations autonomously across entire enterprise systems. Born in Y Combinator (S23) and backed by a16z, Base10, Prysm Capital and Eurazeo with over $200M raised, we power critical operations for global enterprises worldwide.

Our platform is battle-tested in the most demanding environments, where AI has real consequences. We started in logistics, built our own voice stack, models, and orchestration layer from the ground up, and are now bringing that infrastructure to every enterprise that runs the real economy. Learn more about our vision in our manifesto.

About The Role

This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and amplifying HappyRobot's company narrative, brand voice, and presence in the market. As HappyRobot's first Content and Communications leader, you will build the function from the ground up, establishing the strategy, processes, and team needed to scale it as the company grows. You will work closely with the founders and leadership team to develop their voices, create high-impact media and thought leadership opportunities, and build awareness with customers, talent, investors, partners, and the broader technology industry. This is an opportunity to define the narrative of a high-growth company while building a world‑class communications organization from the ground up. You are obsessed with the customer journey and passionate about building world‑class content and experiences for groundbreaking brands and products that are redefining their industries.

Responsibilities

  • Own HappyRobot's overall company narrative, messaging, and content strategy, ensuring we consistently communicate an ambitious, differentiated, and compelling vision.

  • Build a world‑class B2B content and communications organization that positions HappyRobot as a sophisticated, high‑tech industrial company and category leader.

  • Develop campaign narratives for HappyRobot’s ICPs including digital and OOH media.

  • Develop compelling customer stories, articles, blogs, and other content that demonstrate HappyRobot's impact and establish credibility with enterprise audiences.

  • Build and execute a communications strategy around company milestones, growth, product innovation, customer momentum, partnerships, and other major announcements.

  • Develop and lead founder thought leadership, including executive content, speaking opportunities, media engagements, podcasts, and industry events.

  • Build relationships with top‑tier journalists, publications, podcasts, conference organizers, and other influential voices to expand HappyRobot's reach and awareness.

  • Identify and create opportunities for HappyRobot and its leadership to participate in high‑impact conversations shaping AI, automation, and the future of work.

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, and leadership to ensure the company narrative is consistent across customer, industry, and corporate communications.

Must Have

  • Proven leadership experience building and leading Content, Communications, or Marketing functions.

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B technology, enterprise software, AI, automation, or a related industry.

  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and communication skills with the ability to make complex technology accessible and compelling.

  • High creativity to create narratives and campaigns that stand out in a competitive market.

  • Experience developing company narratives and positioning ambitious technology companies for enterprise audiences.

  • Experience working directly with founders and executives to develop thought leadership and executive communications.

  • Strong understanding of B2B audiences and enterprise technology buying environments.

  • Aspirational, pioneering mindset with a sophisticated understanding of how to build a category‑defining technology brand.

  • Highly strategic and hands‑on, with the ability to set a vision while executing in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a high‑growth startup or category‑defining technology company.

  • Background in AI, robotics, industrial technology, logistics, supply chain, or enterprise automation.

  • Strong media relationships and a demonstrated ability to generate meaningful PR, podcast, speaking, and thought leadership opportunities.

  • Experience launching a company or product into a new category.

  • Experience building and managing a high‑performing communications or content team.

Why join us?

  • Join a world‑class team of engineers and builders.

  • Backed by top investors including a16z, Y Combinator, Base10, Prysm Capital and Eurazeo.

Our Operating Principles

Extreme Ownership

We take full responsibility for our work, outcomes, and team success. No excuses, no blame‑shifting — if something needs fixing, we own it and make it better. This means stepping up, even when it’s not “your job.” If a ball is dropped, we pick it up. If a customer is unhappy, we fix it. If a process is broken, we redesign it. We don’t wait for someone else to solve it — we lead with accountability and expect the same from those around us.

Craftsmanship

Putting care and intention into every task, striving for excellence, and taking deep ownership of the quality and outcome of your work. Craftsmanship means never settling for “just fine.” We sweat the details because details compound. Whether it’s a product feature, an internal doc, or a sales call — we treat it as a reflection of our standards. We aim to deliver jaw‑dropping customer experiences by being curious, meticulous, and proud of what we build — even when nobody’s watching.

We are “majos”

Be friendly & have fun with your coworkers. Always be genuine & honest, but kind. “Majo” is our way of saying: be a good human. Be approachable, helpful, and warm. We’re building something ambitious, and it’s easier (and more fun) when we enjoy the ride together. We give feedback with kindness, challenge each other with respect, and celebrate wins together without ego.

Urgency with Focus

Create the highest impact in the shortest amount of time. Move fast, but in the right direction. We operate with speed because time is our most limited resource. But speed without focus is chaos. We prioritize ruthlessly, act decisively, and stay aligned. We aim for high leverage: the biggest results from the simplest, smartest actions. We’re running a high‑speed marathon - not a sprint with no strategy.

Talent Density and Meritocracy

Hire only people who can raise the average; ‘exceptional performance is the passing grade.’ Ability trumps seniority. We believe the best teams are built on talent density — every hire should raise the bar. We reward contribution, not titles or tenure. We give ownership to those who earn it, and we all hold each other to a high standard. A‑players want to work with other A‑players — that’s how we win.

First‑Principles Thinking

Strip a problem to physics‑level facts, ignore industry dogma, rebuild the solution from scratch. We don’t copy‑paste solutions. We go back to basics, ask why things are the way they are, and rebuild from the ground up if needed. This mindset pushes us to innovate, challenge stale assumptions, and move faster than incumbents. It’s how we build what others think is impossible.
