Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Director of Construction Management to lead and develop a team of Project Managers, delivering project management services on major projects and programs. You will ensure service excellence in delivery and growth of our PM offering, including client engagement and market outreach.

The successful candidate will be a driven leader with strong interpersonal skills and a track record of managing successful project delivery in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering.
  • Master's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant construction project management experience.
  • 2+ years managing large multidiscipline teams in a consulting environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering project management services for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a project management team and ensure delivery of accountabilities.
  • Oversee client communications and project management services.
  • Conduct market research on construction conditions and publish insights.
  • Develop and implement strategy for Project Management Services across sectors.
  • Manage resource planning, financial management, business development, and staff training.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Strong leadership skills, experience leading aprojectmanagement team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities.
  • Lead communications with the client and oversight ofprojectmanagement team services.
  • Leadresearch related to construction market conditions, including analysis of official published data.
  • Produce thought leadership reportsprovidingvaluable insights to theconstruction market
  • Lead thestrategic and operational management ofProjectManagement Services in a variety of sectors, including resource planning and management,financialmanagement,businessgeneration and trainingand development.
  • Set a clear strategy and ambition with the team in line withour Business Plan
  • Grow and develop exceptional people, promoting a culture of learning,respectand inclusivity.
  • Knowledge management – Ensure that key information andlearninggenerated from each commission is inputted into internal databases and shared.
  • Process improvement – Identify and act upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
  • Quality Control – Ensure compliance with quality standards and participation in ISO audits.
  • Develop priority plans including risk mitigation through internal tools, make performance measurements via Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and appraisal documents, management controls and critical success factors based on company goals
  • Undertake internal BMS audits, and coordinate and represent the office for external audits undertaken by the external certification authority.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the market, acting as a brand ambassador and creating a pipeline of opportunity with existing and new clients
  • Identifyand act upon cross-selling opportunities.
  • Participate in meetings with Senior leadership, Directors and staff and prepare and deliver presentations
  • Financial Management–Using internalsoftware, track ongoing revenue,margin levelsand monthly fees andresourcerequirementsfor eachcost ,amahecommission.
  • Preparation of proposals/RFP responses for new clients/projects.
  • Attendrelevant networkingeventsand other promotional opportunities with directors.
  • Support the training and mentorship of current staff and promotean upwardcareer trajectory.
  • Proactivelypartnerwithtalent acquisition teamtoattract the best talent,actively manage resourcerequirementsand proactively plan forfuturestaffing needs.
  • Be a role model that drives a one business culture that achieves great outcomes by striking the right balance for our people, clients, stakeholders, and society.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management,architecture,engineeringor field related to construction.
  • Graduatedegree in construction management, architecture,or engineering is preferred.
  • 12+years of relevantconstruction project managementexperience.
  • 2+years managinglargehigh performingmulti disciplineteamsin a consulting environment.
  • Proventrack recordofmanagingsuccessfulprojectmanagement service delivery for clients.
  • ExceptionalBusiness developmentambition andacumen anddemonstratedexperience in achievingdrive business growth.
  • Major construction sectorexperienceworking with high caliber clientsin;commercial real estate, data center, life sciences, industrial manufacturing, natural resources, etc.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written,organizational,and communication skills.
