We are seeking an accomplished Director of Compliance to lead quality and regulatory compliance initiatives within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes meet stringent customer, regulatory, and industry standards while driving continuous improvement in quality, reliability, and operational performance.
You will lead the development and maintenance of compliance systems, oversee audit programs, and partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen quality processes and ensure ongoing regulatory readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning initiatives through data-driven insights, analysis, and execution of action plans.
- Partner with Quality and Production teams to develop and implement production, quality, and customer service standards.
- Identify compliance gaps and develop procedures, processes, and corrective actions to address deficiencies.
- Develop and manage internal audit schedules and oversee internal and external audits.
- Analyze trends, process failures, and corrective actions and prepare comprehensive reports and documentation.
- Establish measurable quality and compliance goals, standards, and performance metrics.
- Promote a culture of quality, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Develop and deliver internal compliance training programs for new and existing employees.
- Manage FAA Repair Station Quality Systems and support compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
- Oversee AS9100, NADCAP, and FAA audit activities and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Maintain the company’s commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all operations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support quality and compliance initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 10+ years of experience in quality assurance or compliance management within the aviation, aerospace, or defense industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in Quality Management Systems and corrective action implementation.
- Experience with composites is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100, FAA PMA, NADCAP, and ITAR requirements.
- Proven experience serving as a quality supplier to major commercial aerospace companies.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
- Experience with Epicor MRP is a plus.
- Strong technical writing skills, including reports, correspondence, procedures, and manuals.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
- Confident presenting information and responding to inquiries from employees, management, and customers.
- Strong understanding of safety, health, and environmental standards.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Strong technical knowledge of aerospace compliance programs and manufacturing operations.
