Job summary

Roanoke Justice Ministry, part of The DART Center, seeks a Director of Organizing to lead community-engagement efforts in the Roanoke Valley. You’ll supervise staff, report to the board, and drive campaigns, fundraising, and organizational growth with a focus on justice and faith-based coalitions.

You bring 3+ years in organizing leadership, strong relationship skills, and a willingness to travel. Based in Roanoke, relocation is possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Core passion to win on local justice campaigns.
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
• Enthusiasm for working with diverse faith communities.
• At least three years of professional experience in community organizing, advocacy, congregational or non-profit leadership.
• Experience leading teams of people.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a car.
• Ability to travel for training events throughout the year.
• This role is based in Roanoke and relocation may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Build engagement in the community and recruit new leaders and congregations.
• Drive campaigns on community problems and organize actions.
• Coordinate an annual fundraising drive and manage dues.
• Map strategic direction with the Board and train future organizers.
• Ensure finances and reporting are in order.
