Job summary

Damar Services, Inc. in Indiana seeks a Director of Community Based Services to lead development, implementation and oversight of community-based programs. You will ensure compliance with governing standards and coordinate with PQI for quality audits.

The role requires advanced degrees and licensure preferences, with a commitment to quality outcomes and collaboration with stakeholders. Indiana driving may be required; pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or other closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with challenging behaviors, developmental and/or emotional disabilities is desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with supervisorial and/or quality assurance experience
  • LCSW, LMFT, LMHC Licensure preferred
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Responsibilities

  • Stand or sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors and safety concerns.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and participate in data collection to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with PQI to ensure quality assurance audits for the community-based program.
  • Maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely completion of training, licensure items, and incident reporting.
  • Ensure programing meets financial benchmarks.

The Director of Community Based Services is responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of Damar’s community-based services including program quality, audit, staffing and financial processes and outcomes. The Director ensures that all services provide adhere to appropriate governing body and referral source standards including, but not limited to, DCS, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance.

Remarkable Ways You Will Be Making a Difference
  • Effectively communicates standards to team members for creation and modification of programing/procedures
  • Assists with consultation and service to other clinical programs though Damar
  • Will ensure the Community Based Programming is provided steady growth while maintaining a foundation of quality
  • Performs documentation editing and formatting to meet state standards
  • Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned
  • Actively participates in and/or oversees date collection and the use of data to improve outcomes, practices and service delivery
  • Works closely with Damar’s PQI department to ensure quality assurance audits of the community-based program occur
  • Maintains positive and appropriate relationships with external stakeholders of Damar
  • Completes and updates mandatory training and other licensure related items in a timely manner
  • Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client
  • Continually reviews governing standards and produces timely and high-quality responses to RFPs and other appropriate service opportunities that meet the needs of Damar clients
  • Ensures that the agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements
  • Maintains documentation that is accurate and legible
  • Ensures programing meets financial benchmarks

Essential Job Functions

The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.

The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.

Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
