JOB OBJECTIVE: To direct, develop, and implement external and internal communications strategies and messaging for the Mayor’s Office and the City of Little Rock.

Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related area; ten (10) years of professional-level experience in strategic communications or related area to include two (2) years of professional-level experience in a Public Information Officer role, print or television media, public affairs, or related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License within six (6) months of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must be available to work outside of regular working hours including evenings, weekends and holidays and subject to on-call and callback as required.
