Job description

A late-stage neuroscience biotech is hiring a Director of Corporate Communications as it moves toward commercialization. The company's lead program, a Phase 3 asset in epilepsy, produced the strongest data reported to date in the indication, and an NDA submission is expected in the third quarter of 2026. The same molecule is in Phase 3 development for depression, and an early-stage pain pipeline is advancing behind it. The company recently closed a $750 million financing, one of the largest in the sector this year.

The role spans four areas:

  • Investor communications: own the strategy and content behind earnings calls, investor materials, and SEC filings, working closely with the CFO
  • Corporate communications: lead messaging and materials that build and protect the company's reputation as it moves toward commercialization
  • Executive communications: build visibility for the CEO, CFO, and CMO through thought leadership and industry engagement
  • R&D/pipeline communications: shape how clinical and pipeline milestones are communicated externally as new data comes in

Note: this is not a traditional investor relations role. The focus is on investor communications strategy and content, not analyst or shareholder relationship management. The mix will shift over time based on company priorities.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, this person will work directly with the CFO on quarterly earnings calls and investor communications, with regular exposure to the CEO through those touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development of corporate and investor messaging, including earnings materials, press releases, executive talking points, and Q&As
  • Direct financial communications planning for quarterly earnings calls and investor webinars, working closely with the CFO
  • Build external communications strategy for pipeline and R&D milestones, including clinical data readouts and regulatory submissions
  • Support executive visibility for the CEO, CFO, and CMO through thought leadership, panels, and industry engagement
  • Partner with Legal and Finance on SEC filings and ensure communications are accurate and consistent across channels
  • Maintain investor relations website content in partnership with an outside vendor
  • Monitor competitive and industry trends to inform messaging strategy
Core Requirements
  • 10+ years in biotech or pharma communications, with meaningful investor communications experience
  • Strong writer who can translate complex clinical and financial information for investor and media audiences
  • Comfortable working directly with a CFO and CEO on financial communications
  • Experience communicating through a company's transition from clinical to commercial stage strongly preferred, not required
  • Therapeutic area background with branded and generic market dynamics (neurology, psychiatry, or similar) a plus, not required
  • Boston area; in-office 2 days per week, no remote
