Job summary

WHOOP in Boston, MA is seeking a Director, Clinical Operations to spearhead the studies supporting SaMD health features. You will own the operational strategy and study execution across the product lifecycle, from concept through validation, regulatory submission, launch, and post‑market evidence generation.

This role requires deep expertise in clinical trial operations, vendor oversight, and regulated healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in clinical operations or regulated healthcare environments.
• 5+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary clinical operations teams.
• Experience overseeing CRO‑managed clinical studies and external vendor partnerships.
• Experience leading decentralized clinical trials and participant‑facing operations.
• Deep expertise in clinical trial execution, study startup, recruitment, monitoring, data management, and trial master file oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own clinical operations strategy across WHOOP’s portfolio of regulated and unregulated health features.
• Lead study startup, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities.
• Oversee participant recruitment, enrollment, retention, data collection, and study logistics.
• Lead operational oversight of CROs and external vendors with governance and metrics.
• Build capabilities for internally executed studies including DCTs and product research.
• Communicate study progress, operational risks, and portfolio status to executives.
