Job summary

Innova Engineered Plastics in Poway, CA seeks a Director of Business Systems to lead strategy, deployment, and governance of ERP, CRM, and BI tools across the organization.

You will partner with IT, operations, and finance to optimize processes, ensure data integrity, and drive digitization during acquisitions. This role requires 10+ years in business systems with strong leadership and experience with SAP/Oracle/NetSuite, Salesforce, and BI platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, CS, or business admin; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in business systems or IT management; 5+ years in leadership.
• Proven ERP and enterprise platform experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Salesforce).
• Strong knowledge of business process mapping, systems integration, and data governance.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.

Job description

The Director of Business Systems is responsible for overseeing the strategy, implementation, and management of business applications and systems across the organization. This role ensures systems are optimized to support business processes, enhance efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to align technology solutions with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold the company's values, mission, and quality policy in all activities.
• Develop and execute the business systems strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Work on integration of new companies to integrate their systems into our overall group portfolio
• Manage CRM platform (Salesforce), Quality Systems and Implement MRP changes on new acquisitions
• Collaborate with business units to assess needs, identify gaps, and implement system-based solutions.
• Ensure system integrity, data accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and security standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, process redesign, and system enhancements.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and performance.
• Oversee change management and end-user training during new system rollouts or upgrades.
• Manage our current ERP (Infor Visual), and build BI tools to help develop a more integrated network
• Evaluate current service provider and determine path forward
• Integrate Datarails financial platform across the company
• Monitor KPIs to measure system performance and business impact.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies that can improve operations.

Education & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in business systems or IT management roles, including 5+ years in a leadership position.
• Proven experience with ERP and other enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Salesforce).
• Strong knowledge of business process mapping, systems integration, and data governance.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects across multiple departments and stakeholders.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a highly regulated industry.
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar certifications.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Office-based with occasional travel to other facilities or vendor sites.
• May require extended hours during system go-lives or major upgrades.

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a Full-Time salary position required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
