Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a qualified Budget Officer to manage the budgeting process for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. This role involves planning, executing, and monitoring budget processes as well as managing and training staff.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field with six years of budgeting experience. The position also requires strong communication skills and proficiency in financial management systems. Preferred applicants will hold a master’s degree and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Six years of experience in budgeting within government or private sector.
• Four years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in governmental budgeting for a moderate sized organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and improve the budget formulation and control systems.
• Supervise all aspects of the budget process and preparation.
• Coordinate and process budget transfers in accordance with policies.
• Prepare annual budget reports and forecasts.
