Spirit of Justice seeks a Director of Community Building to partner with the Co-Founder & Spiritual Director to bring SOJ’s beloved community to life—building relationships, gatherings, and pods that foster belonging and courage for justice work.

The role emphasizes developing a national, largely volunteer-led network and training pod facilitators while centering inclusive, diverse communities and revolutionary love.

Qualifications

• Extensive community- and movement-building experience across diverse groups.
• Strong relationship and partnership-building skills with institutions and people.
• Visionary thinking paired with operations and program design experience.
• Experience building and sustaining large networks of local chapters or groups.
• Passionate about revolutionary love and SOJ’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Build deep, intentional relationships with diverse individuals and institutions.
• Lead development and execution of SOJ's community-building work at local and national scales.
• Implement core community offerings and adapt them to fit the mission.
• Develop infrastructure to train a network of pod facilitators.
• Foster a largely volunteer-led model with a strong volunteer culture.
• Prioritize depth and diversity across race, class, faith, age, and lived experience.
• Learn from NYC pilots to inform national expansion.
