Job summary

East-West University seeks a Director of Behavioral Program to provide academic leadership for the BHS and Business areas. The role includes supervising faculty, coordinating program activities, and teaching three courses per quarter.

The Director communicates program outcomes and advances institutional goals through effective governance and teaching excellence. The ideal candidate holds a doctorate, shows evidence of scholarly achievement, and has experience with diverse student populations

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in Behavioral Sciences and Business from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience at the university level.
• Must show evidence of substantial teaching ability, professional achievement, and research and service.
• Must be able to organize activities that are likely to result additional academic achievement and the improvement of teaching effectiveness.
• Must have experience in teaching first-generation, low-income and international students.
• Proficiency in using the LMS system: Canvas or D2L

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the governance of BHS and Business departments.
• Managing departmental office services.
• Maintaining currency of and developing BHS and Business courses and programs.
• Enforcing departmental and university policies.
• Recruiting, selecting, continuing, and dismissing faculty (full-time and part-time adjunct faculty).
• Making faculty work assignments and overseeing faculty performance.
• Making merit, and promotion recommendations.
• Ensuring intellectual vitality and promoting faculty development.
• Attending to student requirements and needs.
