Job summary

University of Georgia seeks a Director for Accreditation & Institutional Effectiveness to serve as the campus expert on SACSCOC accreditation, ensuring and documenting compliance across institutional policies. The role reports to the Chief of Staff to the Provost and oversees reporting, narratives, and assessment activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 years of professional experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Preferred: Doctorate.
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education accreditation, assessment, institutional effectiveness, academic affairs, or related administration roles.
• Working knowledge of accreditation and institutional effectiveness processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary campus resource for SACSCOC accreditation requirements, policies, procedures, and reporting.
• Lead university‑wide planning, coordination, and documentation for reaffirmation, interim review, annual reporting, and substantive change processes.
• Oversee systems and processes that support ongoing compliance, including documentation of faculty, graduate student teaching credentials, academic program coordinator credentials, student achievement, and accreditation activity.
• Draft, review, and edit accreditation narratives, reports, and institutional documents.
• Monitor changes in accreditation requirements and advise university leaders on policy and planning implications.
• Coordinate with campus partners to implement internal procedures for sustained compliance.
