Job summary

Stronger Consulting seeks an experienced senior accounting leader to drive multi-entity close, payroll, AP, and grants across our Arizona footprint. The role directs finance staff, partners with HR and operations, and ensures accurate financial reporting and audits.

You will implement efficient processes, manage Workday-driven workflows, and support new school launches while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
• 5 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience including monthly/annual close.
• Experience supervising accounting staff and setting clear expectations.
• Working knowledge of payroll, AP, and AR.
• Understanding of debits/credits and financial statements.
• Ability to explain financial results to non-financial audiences.
• Experience with restricted funds and federal grant drawdowns.
• Experience with external financial statement audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise accounting staff; set expectations and accountability.
• Own the monthly close and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Oversee payroll accuracy and timeliness; manage AP and internal controls.
• Maintain grant ledgers and oversee reimbursements and drawdowns.
• Standardize COA, close calendar, and reporting across schools.
• Partner with Workday team and automate routine processes.
• Ensure compliance and timely board/FS reporting; support audits.
