Galloway Ridge in Pittsboro, NC seeks a Director of Accounting with a passion for nonprofit finance to lead daily operations and supervise the accounting team.

You will oversee budgeting and forecasting, prepare financial statements, ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance, coordinate audits, and build strong internal controls to support strategic decisions.

This role partners with leadership to translate numbers into actionable insights and support accountability across the organization.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Preferred: 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Deep knowledge of corporate finance, GAAP/IFRS, and internal controls.
• Strong math, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.

Description

Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community offering top-quality care in a warm, welcoming environment. We are looking for a Director of Accounting with a passion and interest in non-profit accounting to join our team. This position oversees daily financial operations, leads the accounting team, manages budgets/forecasting, ensures compliance (GAAP/IFRS), prepares financial statements, coordinates audits, and develops internal controls, acting as a key link between accounting tasks and executive financial strategy to maintain accuracy and support business goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Financial Operations: Directs workflow of the department. Manage daily operations and serve as backup to AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, cash flow, and month/year-end closes.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts, presenting findings to leadership. Lead monthly variance reviews with department managers.
• Compliance & Controls: Enforce accounting policies (GAAP/IFRS), implement internal controls, and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, train, and delegate tasks to accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and goal achievement.
• Audits & Strategy: Coordinate annual audits, liaise with external auditors, and provide financial data to support strategic decisions.
• All other duties assigned include, but are not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience.
• Preferred: 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
• Must have strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Demonstrates a self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks, anticipate needs, and work independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
