Job summary

Legends Global seeks a Director of Accounting to oversee the accounting function for Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center and related venues. You will supervise the Accounting Department, ensuring accurate records and timely month-end closes.

You will manage budgets, forecasting, audits, internal controls, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive financial performance across multiple facilities in Long Beach, CA. A generous benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• BA/BS in Accounting is required.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting software, procedures, financial controls, and MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Must be highly analytical, with the ability to think creatively about business dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure, irregular hours, confidentiality, and deadlines.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems is a plus.
• Must be willing to travel and work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

THE ROLE

The Director of Accounting will oversee the accounting function of Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, Food & Beverage, Long Beach Aquarium Food & Beverage and Long Beach Amphitheater in Long Beach, California. Directly supervising Accounting Department employees in the day-to-day functions involved in proper facility accounting. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities and tasks are coordinated with the General Manager, as well as Legends Global Regional Director of Accounting. This position will monitor and analyze capital and operating budgets, including monthly financial analyses, monthly forecasting, annual planning, cash forecasting, and ad hoc business analyses.

Essential Functions

• Manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting processes including sales recs, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger.
• Supervise the process of recording manual journal entries and oversee various finance related processes to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate.
• Manage all Payroll, Accounts Payable, & Accounts Receivable functions.
• Review and sign off bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and other analyses.
• Prepare a flash revenue report after every event day.
• Assist in the design and development of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Oversee the inventory process and perform in-depth cost of goods analysis.
• Review and prepare monthly financial results and externally required financial reports.
• Ensure a timely and accurate month-end closing process.
• Analyze the monthly balance sheet and P&L figures to prepare comments and identify performance trends.
• Create, maintain, and manage budgeting and forecasting including, but not limited to, operating budget, monthly forecasting, capital budget, and cash flow analysis.
• Work with outside auditors to complete the annual audit and issue audited financial statements.
• Hire, train, and retain accounting staff.
• Build solid working relationships with business and department leaders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting required.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting software, implementing procedures/financial systems and controls, as well as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Must be highly analytical, can think creatively, and understand complex business dynamics.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work under pressure, irregular hours, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of point of sale systems a plus.
• Must be flexible to travel and work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends and holidays.

Compensation

$175,000–$210,000 annually, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus of up to 10%, based on individual and company performance.
