Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Director of Academics (Operations) to design, implement, and deliver robust learning systems for staff and students. You will lead curriculum alignment, manage district programs, and coordinate professional development across departments to support the Board's policies.

This senior role requires strong project management, budgeting input, and the ability to collaborate with Strategy Division and school leaders to improve instruction and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing district curriculum and policies.
• Ability to lead, supervise, and evaluate staff.

• Familiarity with public school system policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to laws, policies, and procedures while guiding curriculum.
• Monitor and interpret federal and state laws relating to curriculum; implement changes.
• Apply project management procedures to district initiatives.
• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs/staff.
• Collaborate on the departmental budget and professional development.
• Coordinate and supervise district professional learning activities.
• Drive cohesive instructional work across the district to support schools.
