Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced senior leader to serve as Director of Network Infrastructure Sourcing and Procurement. This role owns the end-to-end sourcing strategy for the components that connect every server in every AWS data center to the network, one of the fastest-growing and most technically complex portfolios in the company.
You will lead a global organization responsible for the procurement of networking ASICs, optical transceivers, lasers, optical fiber cable, and OEM networking equipment. This portfolio is experiencing extraordinary growth driven by AI and machine learning infrastructure expansion, with spend scaling multiple times over the next two years.
In this role, you will build and lead a team of senior sourcing and supply chain leaders while owning executive relationships with CEOs and senior leaders at the world's leading semiconductor, photonics, and fiber optic companies. You will develop multi-year sourcing strategies that secure supply, reduce total cost of ownership, mitigate geopolitical risk, and position AWS to meet its growth targets.
You will work at the intersection of latest networking technology and global supply chain operations. This requires deep technical curiosity and the ability to translate complex technology roadmaps into clear commercial strategies.
The ideal candidate is a proven executive leader who combines large-scale technical supply chain expertise with the ability to build high-performing organizations, influence at the highest levels, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. They bring a track record of defining and executing category strategies at scale, driving complex negotiations, building deep supplier partnerships, and creating scalable processes that deliver continuous improvement.
This Director will be a key member of the AWS Supply Chain senior leadership team. You will be responsible for fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture, developing the next generation of leaders, and continuously raising the talent bar across the organization.
This Director leads the sourcing strategy for all networking components (ASICs, optical transceivers, lasers, fiber cable, OEM equipment). Day to day includes negotiating multi-billion dollar supplier agreements, qualifying next generation silicon and photonics, managing geopolitical supply risks, and briefing VP leadership on critical decisions. You work across Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Capacity Delivery teams. Your internal customers are data center teams who need components delivered on time so servers can connect to the network and generate revenue. The core problem: a portfolio growing 7x in two years where supply must be secured 12 to 18 months in advance or it is gone.
