Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. in Tennessee seeks a Director, Multi Line Risk Engineer to lead field surveys for middle-market clients, on-site and virtual. You will assess operations, exposures and control adequacy to support profitability and safety outcomes.

You will summarize findings, advise underwriters and brokers, prepare presentations, and participate in special projects potentially becoming a Subject Matter Expert. Strong knowledge of NFPA, OSHA and DOT standards is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in safety-related role within property/casualty insurance.
• Engineering, Safety or Risk Mgmt degree.
• Professional designations such as ASP, CSP, CFPS, ARM desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and virtual surveys of prospects and clients.
• Evaluate exposures and controls for auto, GL, property and workers’ comp.
• Summarize findings in reports with loss improvement recommendations.
• Provide support to underwriters, policyholders, and brokers.
• Prepare and present to serviced accounts.
• Participate in special projects; may become a Subject Matter Expert.

Job Summary

The Director, Multi Line Risk Engineer is responsible for conducting Middle Market field surveys and providing service support. This role involves both on-site physical surveys and virtual/phone surveys, with a focus on detailed assessment of operations, exposures, and control adequacy. The position aims to protect the future of the company and ensure profitability through timely delivery of industry-leading safety and risk management solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and virtual/phone surveys of prospects and clients evaluating complex exposures and controls for auto, general liability products liability, property and workers compensation.
• Summarize findings in internal reports with appropriate loss improvement recommendations.
• Conduct multi line loss analysis
• Summarize findings in internal reports with appropriate loss improvement recommendations.
• Provide support and recommendations to underwriters, policyholders, and brokers.
• Prepare and conduct presentations to serviced accounts.
• Participate in special projects and possibly become a Subject Matter Expert.

Required Skills

• Competency with NFPA, OSHA, and DOT standards.
• Competency with Microsoft suite tools and applications.
• Good communication skills for working with underwriters, policyholders, and brokers.
• Solid time management skills.
• Experience with ergonomics, life safety and prem ops exposures.
• Ability to evaluate sprinkler system adequacy and calculate loss expectancies.
• Strong consultative skills and the ability to complete detailed reports and assist clients with recommendation compliance.

Desired Skills

• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education/Experience

• Engineering, Safety, Risk Management or comparable degree/experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of industry experience in a safety-related role; property and casualty insurance experience highly desired.
• Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as ASP, CSP, CFPS, or ARM is highly desirable.
