Job summary

New York Genome Center, Inc. is seeking a Director of Molecular Diagnostics to oversee its clinical laboratory. This role requires expertise in regulatory compliance, leadership in molecular diagnostics, and oversight of next-generation sequencing (NGS) testing activities. The Director will provide clinical oversight, ensure operational excellence, and lead assay development while maintaining high regulatory standards. A MD or PhD in a related field and board certification are required, along with at least 5 years of leadership experience. A hybrid work model is available.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD in molecular biology, genetics, or related field required.
• Board certification in an appropriate specialty (e.g., Clinical Molecular Genetics) is necessary.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in molecular diagnostics laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and regulatory oversight for molecular diagnostic testing operations.
• Lead development and validation of NGS-based diagnostic assays.
• Oversee laboratory Quality Management System including QA/QC programs.
