This is a leadership role for a clinician with recognized expertise in bone and mineral metabolism who will oversee and expand a comprehensive, system wide program focused on osteoporosis and related skeletal disorders.

Under the direction of the Division Director, the Director of the Metabolic Bone Disease Program will provide clinical, programmatic, and strategic leadership for bone health services across NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will play a central role in advancing high quality, evidence-based care, strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration, and building a sustainable and nationally visible metabolic bone program.

Clinical Responsibilities

The position is expected to include clinical duties with a clinical focus on metabolic bone disease and osteoporosis. The Director will oversee and work closely with an advanced practice provider dedicated to bone health and will serve as a key referral resource for endocrinologists and other specialists across the NYU Langone network.

Program Leadership and Strategic Development

The Director will lead the Metabolic Bone Disease Program, including oversight and continued development of NYU Langone's osteoporosis screening initiative. This includes clinical leadership of opportunistic and population-based screening efforts and collaboration with radiology, primary care, and institutional leadership to optimize implementation, reach, and impact.

The Director will be expected to initiate and lead clinical research in metabolic bone disease, including investigator initiated and/or industry sponsored clinical trials. This includes identifying novel therapeutic and implementation focused research opportunities, overseeing study development and regulatory submissions, and integrating clinical trials into routine bone health practice across the NYU Langone network.

The Director will work closely with Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Geriatrics, Oncology, and other clinical partners to build coordinated, multidisciplinary pathways for patients with complex skeletal disease, and to leverage these collaborations to support patient recruitment and translational research efforts.
