Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Senior MSL Leader to guide a high-performing field team focused on neurology/CNS therapeutic areas. You will coach scientists, engage top neurologists and investigators, and translate Medical Affairs strategy into regional execution across pre-launch and launch phases.

You will build cross-functional partnerships, drive advisory boards and scientific meetings, and synthesize field insights to inform strategy while ensuring regulatory and SOP

Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical/scientific degree required.
  • Prior MSL experience with demonstrated success.
  • People leadership experience and ability to coach/develop teams.
  • Neurology/CNS experience required; movement disorders preferred.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing MSL team; set expectations for scientific excellence, stakeholder engagement, insight generation, accountability, and results; provide hands-on coaching via field visits, joint engagements, feedback, and individualized development.
  • Serve as a player-coach, maintaining direct, trusted scientific relationships with priority neurologists and movement disorder specialists, investigators, advanced practice providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Translate Medical Affairs strategy into field execution (regional stakeholder planning, strategic account planning, resource deployment) across pre-launch, potential launch, and post-launch priorities for essential tremor.
  • Drive high-quality scientific exchange and external engagement (advisory boards, congresses, and scientific meetings) around essential tremor, emerging clinical data, and evolving treatment paradigms.
  • Convert field intelligence into action by synthesizing emerging questions, unmet needs, clinical practice changes, patient-care barriers, and insights for Medical Affairs and cross-functional strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access) with scientific/clinical context on disease burden, patient journeys, treatment pathways, evidence needs, and access.
  • Build a compliant, accountable field organization (recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, field effectiveness, launch readiness, resource planning; adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, company policies, and SOPs).
Qualifications and Key Success Factors
  • Advanced clinical/scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA, RN, or equivalent).
  • Prior MSL experience with demonstrated success in field-based Medical Affairs.
  • People leadership experience (coach/develop/hold team accountable while maintaining scientific credibility).
  • Neurology/CNS experience required; movement disorders experience (essential tremor or Parkinson’s) preferred.
  • Pre-launch and/or launch Medical Affairs experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to build therapeutic expertise, translate complex science to field strategy, and engage external experts.
  • Strong strategic judgment, account planning, insight generation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Market Access/payer & access experience preferred.
  • High ownership; comfortable with autonomy and ambiguity; strong prioritization and execution.
  • Strong relationships with healthcare professionals and scientific experts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

Annualized Base Salary: $228,000 USD - $248,000 USD
