NKC Health is seeking a Director of Maternal Child Health to provide strategic and operational leadership across obstetrics, postpartum, newborn nursery, lactation, and neonatal care. The role focuses on safe, family-centered, cost-efficient care through evidence-based practice and interdepartmental collaboration.
Ideal candidate has extensive nursing management experience in maternal-child services, with deep knowledge of regulatory standards and performance improvement initiatives.
Our Neonatal ICU, Mother-Baby, Labor & Delivery, Lactation, and Perinatal Education departments, has150-200 deliveries a month, two OR's for cesarean sections, and an average daily census of eight NICU babies, our units are busy, fast-paced, and offer the opportunity to provide specialty and critical care in a collaborative and supportive environment. Our hospital has earned the Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission, setting us apart in the community as a leader in maternal and neonatal care. We work closely with Children's Mercy neonatology specialists who staff our NICU and delivery team 24/7, as well as respiratory care and other specialists, to provide the best possible outcomes. The Director Maternal Child provides strategic and operational leadership for Maternal Child Health services across the continuum of care, including obstetrics, postpartum, newborn nursery, lactation, and neonatal care. Ensures safe, efficient, family-centered, and cost-effective care through evidence-based practice, quality improvement, regulatory readiness, workforce development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
3 years in nursing management, preferably in Maternal Child Health, women's services, neonatal, or related service-line leadership.
Experience in data analysis, performance improvement, patient experience, clinical quality metrics, regulatory/accreditation standards, and interdisciplinary program development preferred.
Basic computer skills. Certifications as appropriate to clinical background.
Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), AFM(Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Association of Women's Health & Neonatal Nursing), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Preferred: Fetal Monitoring Certification, Inpatient OB Certification
