The Legal Department provides core legal support to all Dolby functions, runs several IP‑centric businesses, and leads government relations.
The Director of Licensing Intelligence, Modeling & Analytics is a leadership role responsible for building and operationalizing an end‑to‑end intelligence, analytics, and modeling capability foundational to Dolby’s Patent Licensing and IP Protection strategy. This role extends beyond traditional analytics to include market intelligence, economic and royalty modeling, scenario planning, and AI‑enabled decision support across bilateral and pool‑based licensing programs.
This position will drive and evolve a multi‑year intelligence and analytics roadmap for the Legal, IP Protection, and Patent Licensing organization—translating complex market dynamics, incomplete data, and legal frameworks into clear, actionable insights. The role serves as a key connector across licensing strategy, legal, finance, and data engineering, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
This role is responsible for communicating the business impact of data transformation efforts, demonstrating value through measurable outcomes, and supporting adoption of advanced analytics and AI across the licensing lifecycle.
The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full‑time position is $212,000 - 292,000, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
