Ladders is seeking a Director, Legal to partner across commercial, privacy, security, and open source matters in a fast-moving software environment. This remote role will shape contracting frameworks, support business teams on complex deals, and provide practical guidance balancing speed with risk.

The position offers broad exposure within the legal function and potential growth into larger leadership responsibilities over time.

Competenze

• JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice in at least one US state, with the ability to register as in-house counsel in Massachusetts.
• 7-10 years of commercial legal experience, preferably in-house at a software or SaaS company.
• Deep expertise in drafting and negotiating enterprise software agreements, including SaaS and licensing.
• Ability to work independently and manage legal matters end to end, engaging outside counsel as needed.
• Strong judgment on legal, commercial, and reputational risks, with the ability to provide practical advice that facilitates deals.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple matters across teams and time zones.
• Clear communication skills to interact effectively with engineers, sales leaders, and executives.

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Legal to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will serve as a hands‑on legal partner across commercial, privacy, security, and open source matters in a fast‑moving software environment.

You will help shape the company’s contracting framework, support business teams on complex deal work, and bring practical guidance that balances speed with legal and reputational risk.

The position offers broad exposure across the legal function with the opportunity to grow into larger leadership responsibilities over time.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $160,000 – $190,000 annually

Responsibilities
