Job summary

State of Georgia’s Augusta Technical College seeks a Director of the Basic Law Enforcement Academy to provide strategic leadership, academic oversight, and operational management. You will ensure compliance with Georgia P.O.S.T.

standards and TCState standards while guiding program quality and student success. The role requires effective budgeting, staff supervision, curriculum alignment, and collaboration with admissions, local law enforcement, and community partners to advance public safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field.
• Five (5) years of full-time sworn law enforcement experience.
• Georgia P.O.S.T. Instructor Certification OR ability to qualify for Georgia P.O.S.T. Instructor Equivalency Approval.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability required.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership for the academy and ensure program quality.
• Coordinate development, implementation, and evaluation of the academy.
• Monitor enrollment, retention, and placement data.
• Develop and manage the academy’s annual budget and planning.
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate instructors and staff.
• Maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies and partners.
