Job summary

Metric Bio in North Carolina seeks a Head of Laboratory Operations to lead Biologics programs, overseeing a 20+ FTE team across Mass Spectrometry, Bioseparations and Bioassays in a state-of-the-art facility.

The ideal candidate brings extensive GMP-regulated CDMO leadership, deep technical expertise, client-facing experience, and a track record of driving operational excellence and business growth.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in biologics analytical laboratory operations within GMP CDMO/CMO environment.
• Deep technical knowledge across Mass Spectrometry, Bioseparations, Bioassays and related analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC/UPLC, ELISA, potency assays).
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams while driving operational excellence and business growth.
• Experience partnering with clients, supporting business development activities, and serving as a scientific subject matter expert.
• Strong understanding of GMP compliance, regulatory requirements, and experience supporting regulatory inspections.
• Excellent strategic, commercial, and people leadership skills, with the ability to balance scientific quality and business objectives.
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred) with 12+ years of pharmaceutical laboratory experience, including 6+ years in leadership roles.
