Job summary

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine seeks a Director of Laboratory Animal Medical Services – Attending Veterinarian to provide strategic leadership for animal care and compliance across campus vivariums. The role requires extensive regulatory knowledge, ACLAM certification, and strong collaboration with researchers and IACUC.

Candidates should demonstrate extensive leadership experience in an AAALAC-accredited facility, budget oversight, and a commitment to ethical animal research

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years in laboratory animal medicine.
• Five (5) years of animal facility administrative experience in an academic environment.
• Board Certification with ACLAM and license requirements within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for veterinary care and animal welfare across multiple vivariums and satellite locations.
• Serve as liaison with IACUC and regulatory agencies (OLAW, DoD, USDA, AAALAC).
• Oversee operational, financial, and safety aspects of LAMS and collaborate with researchers.
