Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree in business, healthcare, or a scientific field.
  • 10–15+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare system experience, including 5+ years leading institutional, market access, or key account teams.
  • Experience in endocrinology, cardiometabolic disease, rare disease, or specialty markets.
  • Healthcare system contracting, market access, or quality improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide national leadership, mentorship, and development for a high-performing KAM team focused on institutional strategy and long-cycle execution.
  • Set strategic priorities, annual goals, and KPIs aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Optimize national account coverage, territory alignment, and resource deployment.
  • Coach KAMs in areas including health-system mapping, cross-departmental engagement, workflow influence, and protocol adoption.
  • Develop and oversee national healthcare system engagement strategy and cross-functional collaboration with CSs, MSLs, and Market Access.
  • Ensure anatomy of engagement across institutions such as IDNs, ACOs, academic centers, and multi-hospital systems.
  • Oversee education initiatives and expand disease awareness across multidisciplinary teams; support system conferences and events.

The Director, Key Account Managers provides national leadership, strategic oversight, and operational excellence for Corcept's KAM organization. This team focuses on institutional partnerships, disease awareness, screening pathway development, EMR decision-support initiatives, and multidisciplinary stakeholder alignment across complex healthcare systems.

This leader will partner closely with Clinical Specialists (CSs), Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs), Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), Marketing, Medical Affairs, Field Medical, Market Access, and Health Economics teams to ensure cohesive execution and aligned objectives across the field and headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • National Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing KAM team focused on institutional strategy and long-cycle execution
  • Establish strategic priorities, annual goals, and KPIs aligned with corporate objectives
  • Optimize national account coverage, territory alignment, and resource deployment
  • Coach KAMs in areas including health-system mapping, cross-departmental engagement, workflow influence, and protocol adoption
Enterprise System Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Develop and oversee Corcept's national healthcare system engagement strategy
  • Collaborate closely with CSs, TLLs, MSLs, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Clinical Development, and other internal partners
  • Ensure consistent strategic planning and coordinated execution across complex institutions such as IDNs, ACOs, academic centers, and multi-hospital systems
  • Integrate institutional insights into broader commercial and medical planning
Disease Awareness & System Education
  • Oversee the execution of educational initiatives across key departments, service lines, and leadership groups
  • Support institutional presentations, system conferences, medical society events, and departmental meetings
  • Ensure KAMs collaborate effectively with TLLs and CSs to expand disease awareness across multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop tailored approaches to address unique institutional structures and barriers
Protocol & Pathway Development
  • Lead national strategy to influence system workflows, including screening pathways, EMR flags, order sets, decision-support tools, and referral coordination
  • Support KAM efforts to engage operational, informatics, quality, and clinical leadership to drive alignment and pathway execution
  • Ensure continuity of engagement and reinforcement after protocol adoption to support long-term institutional success
  • Route research or quality improvement opportunities to Medical Affairs or Clinical Development as appropriate
Insights Generation & Strategy Influence
  • Ensure KAMs capture high-quality insights related to system operations, barriers, workflow gaps, and institutional dynamics
  • Synthesize themes and provide leadership with actionable recommendations
  • Use insights to inform resource development, system strategy, and evidence-generation needs
Operational Excellence & Compliance
  • Standardize account planning processes, CRM documentation, and communication expectations across the team
  • Manage departmental budget, training programs, talent development, and hiring strategies
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory guidance, and institutional standards
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:
  • Strong understanding of large healthcare system dynamics, including quality, informatics, operations, and multidisciplinary practice patterns
  • Demonstrated success developing or implementing system-level workflows or clinical pathways
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional field teams through complex initiatives
  • Strong insight synthesis and strategic planning abilities
  • Ability to travel ~50–60%

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position is $191,100 – $253,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
