Responsibilities

  • Serve as authorized spokesperson with the financial community to support fair-market valuation of the Company’s stock.
  • Engage with analysts and institutional investors to present the Company, explain strategy, and build investment interest.
  • Maintain regular contact with analysts and investors and share market trends and feedback with management.
  • Review analyst reports and financial models, addressing inaccuracies as appropriate.
  • Develop and manage an investor relations plan, including roadshows and investor day events.
  • Coordinate quarterly earnings releases and conference calls.
  • Prepare investor materials and ensure consistency with SEC filings.

New Jersey Resources is seeking a strategic, highly visible leader to serve as Director, Investor Relations. Reporting to senior leadership, this role will lead the company’s investor relations strategy and serve as the primary liaison between NJR and the investment community. The Director will play a critical role in communicating NJR’s business strategy, financial performance, growth initiatives, and long-term value proposition to investors, analysts, and other key external stakeholders, while supporting the company’s commitment to transparency, credibility, and shareholder value creation.

Major Responsibilities
  • Serve as an authorized Company spokesperson with the financial community, with the primary objective of supporting fair-market valuation of the Company’s common stock:
  • Engage with analysts and institutional investors, including sell-side and buy-side audiences, to present the Company, explain its strategy, and build investment interest.
  • Maintain regular contact with relevant analysts and institutional investors. Provide investors with current information about events and market trends affecting NJR, and share investor sentiment and feedback with management.
  • Review analyst reports and financial models, and address factual inaccuracies as appropriate.
  • Maintain and develop an ongoing database of current and prospective analysts and institutional investors to inform the investor relations plan and related events.
  • Track analyst and investor questions, concerns, and feedback, and communicate key themes to senior management.
  • Prepare and execute an annual investor relations plan, including roadshows, investor meetings, and investor day events.
  • Work closely with senior management on investor messaging and the communication of the Company’s strategy, financial performance, and outlook. Advise management on messaging strategy and collaborate with business units, FP&A, Accounting, and other functions to understand Company plans and performance.
  • Coordinate quarterly earnings releases and conference calls.
  • Develop financial communications materials, including quarterly earnings presentations, press releases, fact sheets, and other investor-facing materials. Ensure consistency with financial reporting and SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and related disclosures.
  • Prepare presentation materials and scripts for senior management for investor-related settings, including the annual shareowner meeting, AGA forums, and other events.
  • Maintain all aspects of the investor relations website.
  • Serve as the primary Company contact for the NYSE and transfer agent, supporting matters related to dividends, share repurchases, and the Company’s Dividend Reinvestment Plan.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for the department.
  • Measure the effectiveness of the Company’s investor relations program through factors such as the quality and accuracy of external analyst research and earnings estimates, increased sell-side coverage, addition of new shareowners, investor feedback, and third-party perception surveys.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in investor relations for a public company, equity research, investment banking, or a similar field.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of corporate strategy.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to interact effectively with senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience presenting to a public company Board of Directors is preferred.
  • Experience with utilities and/or energy companies is preferred.

Other Details

Location type: Hybrid.

Compensation: The expected base pay range for this role is $187,500–$241,000. Base pay is determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and knowledge.

This role is eligible to participate in an annual short-term incentive program.
