Job summary

El Camino Health seeks an experienced Internal Audit Director to lead the internal audit function, develop a comprehensive risk-based plan, and advise senior leadership and the Board on controls and governance. You will oversee audits across operations, IT, and finance, build a strong audit team, and ensure conformance with IIA standards.

This role collaborates with Compliance, Legal and HR on investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or related field required.
• Graduate degree (MBA, MHA or MPA) preferred.
• CIA required or obtained within 24 months of hire.
• Minimum five years of progressive internal or external audit experience.
• Healthcare regulatory knowledge a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the internal audit function with a risk-based annual plan.
• Report findings and management action plans to senior leadership and board.
• Build and coach the internal audit team and ensure quality assurance.
• Support ERM program and advise on major initiatives and system changes.
• Coordinate with Compliance, Legal and HR during investigations and audits.
