Job summary

AstraZeneca seeks a Director of Formulation and Process Development to set strategy and steer execution for injectable medicines, spanning biologics, peptides, and genomic therapies. You will lead a high‑performing team in development, transfer, and global scale‑up, ensuring products are robust and manufacturable.

You will partner with product development, clinical supply, operations, quality, and regulatory to design phase‑appropriate solutions, integrate devices, and shape the technology

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent in Bio/Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 8+ years leading a group of drug product development scientists or engineers with end-to-end development experience for biologics and injectable programs.
• 5+ years leading teams in a matrix environment with career development responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation and process development for injectable drug products from preclinical to licensure.
• Define drug product strategies across modalities and integration with delivery devices.
• Drive technology transfer and engineering solutions for scale-up and manufacturing support.
• Lead regulatory filings and ensure technical integrity of drug product sections.
