Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Hosting to lead a high‑performing team responsible for delivering scalable IT infrastructure and cloud services across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The role emphasizes strategic direction, standards adherence, and strong collaboration with architects and business partners. The director will drive KPI formation, budget governance, disaster recovery readiness, and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in IT or equivalent.
• 10 years leadership experience of a multi-site enterprise infrastructure organization.
• Foundational Cloud Certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner and/or Azure Fundamentals) are required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure development and delivery of all products and services within the Sunlife DentaQuest Infrastructure and Cloud hosting vertical.
• Ensure service delivery for all key infrastructure areas (O365, AD/LDAP, Wintel/Linux, Azure hosting, AWS hosting, Virtualization, storage, backups, VDI).
• Assure Disaster Recovery is in place and tested for critical services.
• Lead team vision, standards, and documentation; ensure KPI tracking and SLA adherence.
• Manage budget, contracts, and capacity across infrastructure.
• Oversee personnel development, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.

This includes delivering new services and enhancing new features in the existing services as well as managing the day-to-day delivery of the team to meet the immediate needs of the business. The Director takes a leadership role in setting team vision and direction, ensures standards and policies are maintained and systems and solutions are compatible with standard information systems architecture, tools, policies and procedures. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Ensures development and delivery of all products and services within the Sunlife DentaQuest Infrastructure and Cloud hosting vertical.* Ensures service delivery for all key areas of the infrastructure (O365, Active Directory/LDAP, Wintel Servers, Linux Servers, Azure hosting, AWS hosting, Virtualization and physical hardware, Data storage as well as data backups, Virtual desktop (VDI) and desktop engineering)* Assure Disaster Recovery is in place and tested as required for critical business services* Takes a leadership role in setting team vision and direction, ensures standards and policies are maintained, and systems and solutions are well documented, inventoried, and compliant with technical and operational standards, policies, and procedures.* Develops benchmark measures (KPI’s, technical measurements, Performance targets and SLA’s) to evaluate productivity within both the team and technology.* Manages division-level technical implementation projects.* License and contract management for Infrastructure and supporting teams* Develops support plans and implementation strategies to meet the IT needs of the enterprise end-users.* Lead financial management activities, including the creation and maintenance of the technical services budget – both operational and capital.* Leads personnel management activities, including performance management and career development activities.* Supports efforts to develop core competencies, processes, and disciplines and supports sharing of best practices.* Interacts with business and IT teams as needed, as it relates to technical implementations and technical support.* Working with the DQ Network Operations Center team to provide KA’s and training so more support is provided out of the NOC* Manage Capacity and Spend management across the infrastructure* Participates in activities to improve departmental and organizational performance – Improve KPI numbers* Performs other duties, as assigned.Salary Range: $160,300 - $240,500 At our company, we are committed to pay transparency and equity.
