Job summary

Loop is seeking a Director of Information Security to lead a comprehensive security program across architecture, operations, incident response, and risk management. The role partners with Engineering, Product, IT, Legal, and business teams to design practical controls and ensure they are effective in practice.

This in-person role requires presence in San Francisco, Chicago, or New York City with 4+ days in the office.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, security engineering, or related disciplines with leadership experience.
• Deep technical expertise across multiple security domains including cloud, application, and operations.
• Experience operating security programs in a modern cloud-native environment.
• Experience in fintech/payments/enterprise SaaS or AI/data infrastructure environments handling sensitive data.
• Strong understanding of AWS or comparable cloud environments.
• Experience building/delivering detection, vulnerability management, incident-response, and security engineering capabilities.
• Working knowledge of SOC 2, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, NIST AI RMF, GDPR, and related standards.
• Ability to communicate security risks clearly to engineers, execs, and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate Loop’s security strategy into a measurable technical roadmap and operating plan.
• Identify, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities and risks across the organization.
• Strengthen detection, incident-response, identity, data protection, and cloud/application security capabilities.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to embed security into SDLC and architecture.
• Lead security architecture discussions and risk assessments with cross-functional teams.
