Job summary

NPR is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer to cultivate and secure high-level donor gifts in the United States. You will manage a large portfolio, lead moves management initiatives, and collaborate with NPR Foundation Board members to achieve multi-million-dollar fundraising goals.

In this role, you will work with local Member stations and the Planned Giving team to design blended gift opportunities, prepare persuasive proposals, and produce impact reports that demonstrate donor impact

Qualifications

• Experience managing a portfolio of major gifts and converting prospects to gifts.
• Strong ability to move donors from qualification to stewardship with strategic planning.
• Excellent communication and proposal-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 100–150 major gift prospects, including NPR Foundation Board members, to secure high 6- to 7-figure gifts and generate $5M+ annually.
• Execute comprehensive moves management strategies, from qualification to stewardship, using tools like Salesforce and fundraising best practices.
• Partner with local Member stations and the Planned Giving team to facilitate collaborative and blended gift opportunities, while creating compelling donor proposals and impact reports.
