The Director, HR Business Partner leads the people agenda for Humana Military by aligning talent strategy with business strategy and converting business priorities into organization, leadership, workforce, and culture outcomes.
The role supports both the successful execution of the current TRICARE business and readiness for future growth, including VACCN and other strategic opportunities. The Director serves as a trusted accountability partner to senior leaders, helping shape business decisions and ensuring Humana Military has the capabilities, talent, leadership, organization, and culture required to deliver current contract commitments and long-term growth.
The Director represents the voice of the business across HR, orchestrates integrated support from HR Centers of Excellence, and maintains a disciplined focus on measurable business and workforce outcomes rather than transactional HR delivery.
Own the end-to-end talent strategy for the aligned Humana Military business and connect talent decisions directly to business, contract, operational, and growth priorities.
Design and strengthen the organization required to execute strategy, sustain current performance, and scale for future demand.
Serve as a trusted accountability partner who strengths executive judgment, leadership behavior, succession depth, and team effectiveness.
Shape the culture required to deliver strategy while protecting workforce health during operational pressure, transformation, and growth.
Act as the accountable partner and face of HR for the aligned business while ensuring coordinated support from HR Centers of Excellence.
Ensure workforce, leadership, organization, and culture strategies sustain reliable execution of the current business, including service, regulatory, customer, quality, and government contract commitments.
Strengthen retention, engagement, succession readiness, leadership effectiveness, and organizational health to protect business continuity and long-term capability.
Enable operating-model changes, organizational redesign, new ways of working, and cross-functional improvements without compromising current performance.
Build leadership capacity, talent pipelines, hiring sequencing, onboarding readiness, organizational capability, and workforce plans required for responsible growth and successful execution.
Connect Humana Military priorities with enterprise capabilities and partners while ensuring solutions reflect the distinct requirements of government programs and the Military business.
The Director is accountable for strategic diagnosis, integration, leadership counsel, and outcomes. The role does not serve as the default owner for routine administrative or transactional work that belongs in established leader, shared-service, Employee Relations, reporting, policy, training-administration, or other delivery channels.
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$168,000 - $231,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
