Job summary

Temple University Health Sciences Center seeks a Director of Maintenance and Operations to lead facilities management, safety, and regulatory compliance across the campus. Responsible for planning, directing, and optimizing the maintenance of all buildings, systems and utilities, including steam, chilled water, electrical and life-safety programs.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of Joint Commission standards, and collaboration with hospital and university personnel to sustain

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent field.
• Minimum of eight years of experience in a similar healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated competency to comply with regulatory requirements in a healthcare facility (Joint Commission, CMS, Department of Health).
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance and preservation of the physical plant, systems and grounds.
• Oversee mechanical and building trades including stationary engineering, electrical, HVAC, BAS and related trades.
• Ensure systems operate in compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and direct maintenance and repair of university buildings and utilities.
• Lead safety, training, and regulatory compliance activities.
