Job summary

Centene is seeking a seasoned government relations professional in Michigan to advocate for the company’s public policy priorities with the state legislature and agencies.

You will analyze regulatory proposals, develop positions, and coordinate lobbying efforts, while reporting to the Board and ensuring compliance with state laws. This role emphasizes strategic communication and stakeholder liaison work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Political Science, Health Administration or related field; Graduate degree desirable.

Position Purpose

• Lobbies the state legislature and state agencies on behalf of the company.
• Directs government relations activities including, but not limited to:
• Sets or recommends legislative priorities and develops public policy positions;
• Analyzes and reviews state regulatory and legislative proposals, recommends and prepares appropriate company positions (including testimony before legislative bodies);
• Determines operational impact evaluations as necessary;
• Coordinates lobbying activities;
• Communicates legislative and regulatory changes.
• Recommends initiatives to improve financial performance.
• Serves as liaison/representative to state and national health plan associations.
• Prepares and presents reports to Board of Directors as assigned.
• Assists in compliance with state laws.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Political Science, Health Administration or related field; Graduate degree desirable. Five to seven years experience in government relations/lobbying with increasing responsibility

Compliance/ERM:

7+ years experience preferred

Pay Range: $141,500.00 - $261,400.00 per year
