Job summary

The Brock Group Inc is seeking a Director of Risk Management to plan, direct, and coordinate a comprehensive risk and insurance program across its operating footprint. You will partner with Legal, Safety and Operations to protect employees and assets, while managing brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.

You will design programs, oversee OCIP enrollment, monitor claims, and develop risk management systems to deliver measurable improvements in risk control and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, finance, business, or related field.
• CPCU, ARM, CIC or RIMS-CRMP designation preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive risk management experience in industrial services, construction, or energy/petrochemical services.
• Experience with large, multi-line commercial insurance programs with national exposure.
• Experience with OCIP program enrollment, reporting, audits and claims management.

Summary:

Broad Function

The Director, Risk Management is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating a comprehensive risk and insurance program to ensure the organization’s employees and assets are adequately and appropriately protected and to control risks and losses. This position owns the process of identifying, measuring, and managing insurable or hazard risks, developing reports and plans, analyzing risk/insurance problems and defining and/or overseeing the implementation of the risk solutions that help optimize operations. The Director will work closely with Legal, Safety, and Operations, and will manage relationships with brokers, carriers, third-party claims administrators, outside counsel and others across Brock's operating footprint.

Essential Functions

• Promote, demonstrate, and instill Brock’s Bsafeand Bbest culture in all aspects of the business
• Design and direct the procurement of corporate Property, Casualty, Management and related insurance programs, including data preparation, assessment of acceptable coverage terms, risk retention and limits, review and approval of policy forms and endorsements and coverages, and negotiation of insurance costs and collateral requirements
• Oversee enrollment in OCIP programs and maintain related records
• Ensure timely and appropriate claims reporting to TPAs or insurers and oversight of all claims to optimize claims outcomes
• Develop, execute, and maintain processes and procedures for risk management function.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to corporate and business units on various insurance risks, insurance programs, and related solutions including interpreting coverage
• Analyze losses and trends and timely communicate to business units
• Manage surety bond program including the review, negotiation and management of bond requirements and coordinating with business units to terminate surety programs as programs expire.
• Maintain historical records and copies of all insurance policies as well as client OCIP program materials
• Manage relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers, attorneys, actuaries and other TPAs
• Develop and maintain risk management systems and tools, developing reporting and analysis to measure, analyze and manage insurance claims as well as to provide insurance data to key stakeholders for audit, financial reporting, and legal purposes
• Manage company insurance and OCIP insurance audits
• Analyze client/customer required OCIP programs, recommending solutions to integrate OCIP coverage with company’s insurance coverage, ensuring concerns from operations are addressed and risks mitigated
• Support Contract Administration with review of insurance and bond provisions of customer and subcontractor contracts/drafts during the commercial development stage
• Manage property and general liability claims and loss control activities
• Assist with the preparation and review of actuarial reserves for financial reporting and collateral requirement purposes
• Prepare departmental budgets including insurance, brokers and TPA fees

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, finance, business, or a related field; CPCU, ARM, CIC or RIMS-CRMP designation preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive risk management experience, ideally within industrial services, construction, or energy/petrochemical services.
• Demonstrated experience managing large, multi-line commercial insurance programs, with national exposure including excess/umbrella towers, management lines and large-deductible or self-insured structures.
• Direct experience overseeing litigated claims and working with outside defense counsel, including multi-jurisdictional including Gulf Coast venue experience.
• Experience with OCIP program enrollment, reporting, audits and claims management.
• Working knowledge of workers' compensation and automobile liability exposure management for a large field-based or fleet-heavy workforce including return to work.
• Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership on risk exposure and program strategy.
• Experience managing third-party claims administrators.
