Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced hardware regulatory compliance leader to own end-to-end certification programs for Evolv Express, eXpedite, and future products. You will guide regulatory strategy, coordinate lab testing, and ensure compliance across multiple markets.

This role requires a deep background in EMC, electrical and radiation safety, RoHS/REACH, and experience managing the lifecycle from submission to renewal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years in hardware product regulatory compliance.
  • Direct experience managing certifications across multiple global markets.
  • Knowledge of EMC, immunity, electrical and radiation safety, CE marking, NRTL, UL, FCC and country-specific certifications.
  • Hands-on lifecycle management: test lab selection, submissions, documentation, regulatory correspondence, approval and renewal.
  • Familiarity with product-level and component-level certification for tablets, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and power systems.
  • Strong knowledge of RoHS, REACH, SCIP, and conflict minerals compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with HS code classification, import/export documentation and trade compliance.
  • Experience with radio certifications (FCC, CE) and international frameworks.
  • Ability to build and manage compliance workflows, checklists, and execution plans.
  • Experience managing external test labs and certification bodies.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Legal, and Sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • E-Verify participation and Form I-9 completion.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end product regulatory compliance for Evolv Express, eXpedite, and future hardware products
  • Ensure required certifications across components and markets (EMC, safety, regulatory marks)
  • Build and maintain a country compliance framework across multiple regions
  • Serve as Radiation Safety Officer for cabinet X-ray product and manage radiation surveys
  • Audit and renew certifications; monitor regulatory developments and respond
  • Manage relationships with test labs, certification bodies, and consultants
  • Design and implement compliance checklists and workflows for shipment readiness
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Hardware, and Systems Engineering
  • Represent compliance in product roadmap and stage-gate releases
  • Drive compliance workflow adoption across Product and Engineering
  • Close high-priority certification and market-compliance needs
  • Lead testing schedules, submissions, certifications, and renewals

Job description

  • Own end-to-end product regulatory compliance for Evolv Express, eXpedite, and future hardware products
  • Ensure required certifications for product components, including tablets, LTE and Wi-Fi radios, EMC, immunity, electrical and radiation safety, regulatory markings, and NRTL certification
  • Build and maintain a prioritized country compliance framework across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America
  • Serve as Radiation Safety Officer for the cabinet X-ray product
  • Conduct and maintain required radiation surveys across headquarters and field systems
  • Manage RSO requirements at customer deployment sites
  • Own RoHS, REACH, SCIP, conflict minerals, and environmental compliance
  • Review and maintain HS tariff code classifications for hardware products and components
  • Design and implement compliance checklists and workflows for shipment readiness
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Hardware, and Systems Engineering
  • Represent compliance in product roadmap and stage-gate release discussions
  • Manage relationships with accredited test laboratories, certification bodies, and regulatory consultants
  • Manage testing schedules, submissions, certifications, and renewals
  • Monitor regulatory developments and develop response plans
  • Audit existing certifications and identify priority compliance gaps
  • Deliver compliance assessments, roadmaps, and country-specific checklists
  • Close high-priority certification and market compliance needs
  • Establish compliance workflow adoption across Product and Engineering
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline required
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware product regulatory compliance
  • Direct experience managing certifications across multiple global markets
  • Knowledge of EMC, immunity, electrical and radiation safety, CE marking, NRTL, UL, FCC, and country-specific certifications
  • Hands-on experience managing the full certification lifecycle, including test lab selection and coordination, application submission, documentation, regulatory correspondence, approval, and renewal
  • Familiarity with product-level and component-level certification requirements for tablets, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and power systems
  • Strong working knowledge of RoHS, REACH, SCIP, and conflict minerals compliance requirements and reporting obligations
  • Familiarity with HS code classification, import/export documentation, and trade compliance requirements
  • Experience with radio certifications across FCC, CE, and international equivalent frameworks
  • Ability to build and manage compliance workflows, checklists, and execution plans
  • Experience managing external test laboratories and certification bodies
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Engineering, Legal, and Sales
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • E-Verify participation and completion of Form I-9 for employment
  • Nice to have: experience with security screening, weapons detection, SAFETY Act applications, Radiation Safety Officer responsibilities, localization requirements, international sales support, or ITAR/EAR compliance
