Director, Global Medical Response (GMR) Program – Airbus Helicopters

Drive the strategic operation and sales growth of a major North American account. Lead a cross‑functional team, manage full P&L for support programs, and steer new aircraft sales. Serve as the executive‑level focal point for all business and logistical requirements to deliver world‑class support while expanding market share.

Responsibilities
Key Account Sales & Business Development (30%)
  • Regular visits to Key Account headquarters and operational bases.
  • Support market development and growth opportunities; increase Airbus Helicopters market share.
  • Ensure successful aircraft demonstrations, generate key account opportunities and sales leads.
  • Compile data for market analysis and forecast presentations.
  • Prepare technical comparisons and strategies highlighting Airbus Helicopters operational advantages.
  • Manage all key account sales, market analysis, and business development initiatives.
  • Attend trade shows and exhibits; develop new business and public relations.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products and sales activities.
  • Act as primary interface with Programs and Customer Support to ensure delivery standards.
  • Control operating expenses within company guidelines and annual objectives.
Key Account Customer Support (30%)
  • Direct, monitor and guide management of financial and operational performance for support contract execution.
  • Profit & loss responsibility for new Spares, HCare Parts by the Hour (PBH) programs and AHI MRO sales.
  • Manage materials support and logistics, including forecasting and on‑time delivery.
  • Guide the Customer Support Center ‘Command Center’ team to meet OTR5b, AOG metrics, reporting turnaround times.
  • Track and influence costs for HCare PBH Program to meet profit objectives.
  • Ensure effective training for IM tools; comply with local regulations.
  • Develop logistics management strategies with DFW warehouse leadership.
  • Oversee consignment locations and inventory management.
  • Support purchasing capability and local expediting for AOG spot buys.
  • Maintain local resource adequacy: recruiting, workload, capacity balancing.
  • Define training needs for key account support and sales teams.
Improvement of Key Account Fleet Activity (20%)
  • Develop and deploy support strategies to improve fleet availability.
  • Measure fleet activity data aligned with customer metrics.
  • Collect and report direct maintenance cost data; recommend actions to increase availability and reduce cost.
  • Manage material support and logistics plans for right parts at right location.
  • Lead Customer Support Manager to ensure spares availability and fleet activity metrics.
  • Co‑operate with Sr. Director, Technical Support for in‑house and technical support.
  • Guide the Customer Support Representative team in order management of spares and repairs.
  • Coordinate functional organizations to deliver customer support requirements per contract.
  • Maintain operating budget (OPEX) and meet KPIs.
Manage GMR Program Team (20%)
  • Lead cross‑functional teams to exceed customer expectations.
  • Execute HR processes in cooperation with HR Department.
  • Coach team members on professional development and career progression.
  • Build cooperative relationships across organization to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop a high‑effective team for customer support and engagement.
  • Ensure direct reports are trained and develop competencies aligned with company strategy.
  • Recruit and retain GMR program staff.
Boarding Pass (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree (Business or Engineering) or equivalent.
  • Minimum twelve (12) years of aviation experience in aircraft or helicopters, including repairs management, programs execution, logistics, customer service.
  • Minimum five (5) years in the helicopter industry.
  • Minimum five (5) years in Customer Service, Sales, or Program Management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the North American helicopter market.
  • Experience communicating and influencing at Executive Boardroom level.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems.
  • SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.
Preferred Education & Skills
  • MBA or graduate/advanced degree preferred.
  • Prior experience as helicopter pilot or aircraft maintainer.
  • Minimum six (6) years of continuous improvement projects.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Familiarity with WebEx, ShareCopter, Salesforce, or Siebel.
Travel Required
  • 60% domestic and international travel.
Citizenship
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
  • 40% onsite; remaining remote.
  • Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying and lifting up to 30 lbs, occasional pushing/pulling small office furniture.
  • Standing, walking, squatting/kneeling as required.
  • Travel independently at short notice.
  • Personal Protective Equipment requirements as per site.
